Flying in a Blizzard

After an hour on hold with the telephone hotline I was told by a Jet Blue rep that we were on the stand by list for tomorrow (the next confirmed seat was Jan 3!) … They would just start calling names and if you were not right there, you got bumped With gates changing constantly and some flights being delayed it was a gamble as to which south bound airplane we should stake our standby status at.

Room with a View appears in the back of every issue and has a hotel window’s view taken from the guest perspective.

Tiamo Love

My family complains that I always disappear when it gets cold to the Caribbean or Los Angeles but you can’t shoot active outdoor lifestyle in Central Park at 20 degrees. … Tiamo Resorts has ten cottages on the beach in such a remote section of the island you can only get there by boat.

Conde Nast Traveler–Lakshadweep Islands India

It’s a double-header month with a story on India’s Lakshadweep Islands in Conde Nast Traveler in the August issue…. Leaving the island we had to take four planes to get back to New York including a stopover in Iceland for a sick passenger.

Sea Kayaking with Men’s Journal

My story on a Baja Mexico Sea Kayaking trip came out in the August issue of Men’s Journal…. I had expected to be in a kayak all the time but the expedition group had planned on me traveling via a chase boat.   The boat enabled me to get a variety of angles on the situation but it certainly was different from my past Men’s Journal expeditions-Snowmobiling Newfoundland for ten days (!)
