Femibion–The Director’s Cut

[vimeo 7554801 nolink]

Don’t get me wrong, I like the client’s version of the commercial but I wanted to try something with faster cutting and a change of music. I was able to add a few more scenes into the piece as well. The agency was from Germany, so they cut the commercial in Germany. Editing can take a week or more, so it was prohibitive for them to hang out in New York to cut it here. As I move into doing more video work, I have been developing relationships with editors. In the future, I hope to be able to do more director’s cuts to present to the agency as my thoughts on the project. This director’s cut was done by Ronni at IKA Collective. The original commercial is here if you want to compare.

HPV Video Spot for DDB New York

[vimeo 10725967]

I showed some production stills earlier of this. Well, now I can show you the video! Shot for a pharmaceutical company and the agency was DDB New York. It was a very exciting 5 day LA based shoot with over 22 models. Very hectic but a whole lot of fun. This motion capture direction has given me many new things to be excited about these days. Though my still work is cinematic by nature and I work with actors, it has given me a new perspective to my work and I find it invigorating.  To see all my videos, please visit my website.

Every year I send out a travel promotion to showcase some of the travel work I have been doing. Last year it was a newspaper (see it in the newspaper section on my website).  This year I printed a small twenty page book and mailed it to a select few.

Conde Nast Traveler Book: A Room With a View

This month Assouline has published a beautiful coffee table book of select images from Conde Nast Traveler’s Room with a View column. Room with a View appears in the back of every issue and has a hotel window’s view taken from the guest perspective. I had a couple of images chosen. One from the Four Seasons in New York taken from the Presidential suite at night. The other from a rustic hotel on a remote Indian Island.
